Signaletics: Design and communication concept
Corporate communications at the Center for Applied Aeronautical Research
ZAL in Hamburg is the leading research and development platform for civil aviation. Kleinhempel was able to implement ZAL's sophisticated design and communication concept as a framework contract partner. This was a truly exciting project in the field of corporate communications, which required a great deal of expertise in cross-discipline areas such as assembly, fire protection, acoustics, timber construction, digital signage, printing and advertising technology.
This project not only combined a wide variety of wall designs with analogies from aviation with digital textile printing, but also implemented special fire protection regulations with large-format prints on glass fiber materials in A2. The textile prints from Kleinhempel can be produced in B1 or A2, can also be sound-absorbing for acoustics on request and can be mounted in discreet clamping systems with easily replaceable prints.
The concept also included a signage system with wayfinding, floor plans, floor films and digital menu boards for the canteen. The digital signage displays naturally receive the content directly from the canteen operator, simply online and in real time every day. The highlight: we built carcasses for the displays that look like luggage compartments on an airplane.
